Doesn't look too easy this one..

Physically difficult - first half navigationally easy -second half less so with potential to misread detail and drift off intended course

i would like to know how the courses are chosen, does the organization that runs the competition choose it or do you get the start and finish and have to pick your way to go?

Note that the light green on this map is actually fairly runnable; the mapper mapped essentially all forest as light green, even though it's fairly typical New England forest, runnable at speed though not without some saplings or underbrush. The white is similar to the best western North American forest...runnable at top speed in shorts with arms spread wide. Thus, some of the forest route choices are much more reasonable than they may look at first glance.
