Fellesseminar - Physics Colloquium Fredag  26. september 2008 kl 14.15 Auditorium B Bjarne Stugu and Joakim Nystrand University of Bergen LHC Start-up After almost 20 years of preparation, the construction of CERN's LHC is completed, and the first protons have made their first complete turns around the ring. Following a brief introduction to the LHC, its commissioning and the problems encountered, this seminar will present glimpses into the Bergen activities related to startup of the two experiments we are involved in (ALICE and ATLAS), and some perspectives on physics studies that can be done with early data.
